bec and liam – two sisters and a chef – mundaring wedding

Bec and Liam are funny and sweet and super in love. ♥ Liam and his groomsmen (bunch of handsome fellas!) got ready at the family farm then met up with Bec and her bridesmaids (bunch of gorgeous women!) at Two Sisters and a Chef in Mundaring, a lovely suburb up in the hills of Perth. Lots of beautiful trees everywhere. 🙂 It was a gorgeous day, full of laughter and fun. I know I say that about every wedding I shoot, but it’s true. 🙂 The speeches were heartfelt and funny, the drinks were aplenty, and two awesome peeps, surrounded by family and friends, got hitched. 🙂 Yay.

irene and garth – verdhelo lawn – oak room – sandalford wines wedding

This is Irene and Garth. They are super duper in love, and very gorgeous. 🙂 So gorgeous, in fact, that Irene was named Perth Bride’s 2015 Bride of the Year, after their wedding was featured in a 2 page spread in the Perth Bride Magazine late last year! It’s so exciting for me to have work published, but it’s even more exciting for my couples, because they get to see themselves in print! And then to win the public vote for Bride of the Year…well, that just caps things off nicely. 🙂 As you’ll see, the day was full of laughter and joy – these two are just so happy, as individuals and as a couple, and they’re setting off on a life of adventure together. They’re an excellent team, and they’ve got some awesomely good times ahead of them…that much is incredibly clear. ♥ It was such a pleasure to spend the day and evening with them, and I can’t wait to see what they do next. ♥

ashleigh + ben – wanneroo botanic gardens – AQWA – perth wedding

Welcome to Ashleigh and Ben’s wedding post. Yay! And the continuation of the flash-back theme started back here, with Becky and Jack’s Eagle Bay wedding from 2014. We’ll be on this particular wedding photographer theme for a while (side note: I think it’s safe to call it a ‘wedding photographer’ theme…although having shoots backed up for blogging is possibly just a ‘photographer’ theme!!!) because I’m catching up on blogging all the awesome weddings I’ve got stored up…and we’ve just hit 2015. 🙂

These lovers were married on a beautiful day in February, at the Wanneroo Botanic Gardens, which is super GORGEOUS and offers lots of shade – vital on February day in Perth. It was a really fun day, loads of laughter all through the wedding ceremony and bridal portraits, and love just bursting out everywhere, which is my favourite thing ever. ♥ AQWA is an awesome reception venue, not least of all because of the super cool photos we made in the walk-through aquarium…we snuck away from Ash + Ben’s guests for a quick 20 minutes amongst the sharks and colourful fish, all whilst being served champagne. Pretty epic. 🙂 The speeches were funny and entertaining and moving, and because Ash’s sister couldn’t make it from the UK for the wedding, she was Skyped in. All in all, a fantastic wedding, and I’m stoked to share it with you. :)♥

rebecca + jack – wise wines – eagle bay wedding

Very excitingly, Bec and Jack’s wedding was published twice! First it was featured on the website and blog (you check it out HERE and HERE, and it includes a lovely write up in Bec’s words) and then it was featured as a two page spread in Perth Bride Magazine’s 2015 Real Weddings edition.

kristi and david – parliament house – wolf lane – lamonts bishop house – perth wedding

David and Kristi are super fun and relaxed and gorgeous and really adorable with each other. I loved spending their wedding day with them! I started at their home, with David and his two best blokes. David gave them awesome thank you cards (so cute! and perfect because they had bowties on them and the boys all wore bowties!!! Yay for bow ties!!!) and gorgeous personalised cufflinks.

Kristi and David are into the simple things in life, and their wedding rings reflect that philosophy…lovely bands, plain for David and with some subtle diamond extras for Kristi.

They have a beautiful daughter, who you’ll see more of soon. For now, though, I’ll let David’s stubby holder do all the talking. 🙂

The boys were kitted out in super sharp grey suits, paired with black suspenders and bowties. Totally modern with an old school edge. Love it. 🙂

We hit up the laneway behind the house for a some quick portraits before I headed over the see the girls…

…who were getting ready in style at Kristi’s parents’ place. 🙂 Looks like I arrived at exactly the right time. Bubbles, anyone?

Kristi has one of the best smiles I’ve ever seen. She smiles with her whole body, and it’s outrageously contagious. You can’t help but be happy around her. 🙂

And she smiled a lot, ’cause she was pretty excited to be marrying her fella. 🙂

The lace and beaded detailing on her beautiful dress was just gorgeous, and was complemented perfectly by her killer sparkles-and-bows shoes. 🙂

We did a first look, which I love beyond words. Seeing his face as he heard her approach was just beautiful. Will you just look at that excitement!!

Then we wandered around Parliament House, making the most of the city reflections in the windows and the gorgeous grounds, which are full of lovely little pockets of space with native plants and cute little spots to sit and get cuddly. 🙂

After Parliament House, we moseyed (yes, it was that relaxed) into the city, where we made a bunch of fun, colourful, love- and happiness-filled photos around Wolf Lane. It’s been worked hard by local artists and there are amazing artworks on walls and old roller doors and shopfronts and covered carparks. It has so many amazing spots for photos, so I had a great time putting this incredibly cute, loved-up couple (and their spunky bridal party) in front of lots of them.

And then, they got married. Which was awesome, and absolutely followed the same trend – fun, love, laughter, friendship, and joy. ♥ The ceremony and reception were held at Lamont’s Bishops House, a delightful little parcel of green in the heart of Perth city, snuggled in amongst the glass and metal surrounding it.

Sometimes people worry that doing a first look will diminish the excitement the groom feels watching his bride approach…but I can say with all certainty that it’s not the case. Nothing can take away that amazement and joy. Just look at David’s face!

After exploring the mini-rainforest on the Lamonts Bishop’s House grounds, Kristi and David found their daughter for some family time. ♥

Then bub went back to her grandparents (best babysitters EVER!) and the newlyweds mingles with their guests on the lawn.

Event Flowers did an incredible job with the blooms, just gorgeous! Colourful and bright and super pretty. And, as always, Wedding Day Flair styled the the ceremony area and the reception space beautifully. Both ladies are super talented, and really lovely to work with.Delicious bundles of blooms, everywhere…the table settings, oh my goodness. The bonbonnieres were gorgeous love heart cookies with each guest’s name written in icing…so cute!

The food was fabulous, and the speeches were funny and beautiful.

And then there was dancing. The whole day was so relaxed and fun, which is such a reflection of not only Kristi and David, but the people dearest to them also. It was smiles and good times the whole way. Pretty much perfect, really. :)♥
